Almost four years ago, my friend (and fellow photographer) Alyssa and I decided to do a session swap. I needed new headshots, and she wanted some pet portraits of her and her sweet pup Pebbles, who was beginning to age. I had recently purchased a new lens for my camera, so I was super excited to try it out (in addition, of course, to hanging out with a puppy dog while working).
Pebbles was the sweetest, silliest little girl. Her adorable grin and floppy tongue made her a star in front of the camera. It was so special to be able to take such priceless photos with the people who loved her most in the world. Alyssa and her baby had almost two more years together before Pebbles crossed the rainbow bridge; I’ll never forget seeing Alyssa’s post and feeling my heart break for her hard goodbye. Pebbles might be gone, but I know she’ll never be forgotten.
Here are some of my favorite moments from our session. Friends…if you’ve never had pet portraits taken with your beloved fur babies, do it now. When they’re gone, pictures are all that remain.
