Modern Studio Bridal Session in Decatur, AL | Kaylee Poston Thompson

Kaylee chose a modern indoor studio for her bridal session, and the photos that resulted are some of my favorites to date. She brought her mom with her to the shoot, and the three of us had such an enjoyable time together. Check out these beautiful photos, along with a few words from Kaylee about why it was so special to have her mom with her.

Room 1520 Wedding in Chicago, IL | Rob + Katie

It all started with an Instagram message from the bride’s maid of honor. “My friend just got engaged and really wants you to be her photographer!” If only I knew what I had in store! The plan was an October wedding in Nashville; fast forward a few weeks, and through a series of events, the wedding is now taking place in November…in Chicago. And they definitely wanted to book me. Eeee!!

Formal Winter Wedding in Florence, AL | Chandler + Sara Grace

Chandler + Sara Grace’s elegant November wedding was one that I’d been anticipating for months. The vendor team was an all-star lineup, the couple was absolutely precious, and y’all know winter is my favorite season. It had all the ingredients for a perfect wedding, and it did not disappoint.

Romantic Bridal-Themed Boudoir Session

“I never would have pegged myself as someone who would do a boudoir shoot, but when I saw Katie’s work I couldn’t resist getting more details. I really wanted a classy bridal experience since I was getting married in a few short months and boy did Katie deliver. It made the perfect wedding gift for my future (now present) hubby and I’m so grateful that I have these photos to look back on! I felt beautiful, classy, sexy and super confident leaving the shoot and those feelings carried over to my wedding day and beyond. I’ll be honest, I got these photos for my husband but they were even more of a gift to me. So go for it. Stand in your own skin in front of a camera lens and let go of your insecurities for just a few minutes. You’ll be glad you did.”

Sunrise Engagement Session at Robert Trent Jones | Blair + Kaylee

Blair + Kaylee’s sunrise engagement session was every bit as dreamy as I knew it would be. They chose to take their photos at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Muscle Shoals, AL, which is where they met and eventually fell in love. It was a freezing cold morning, but in the photos, all you can see is warmth. Check out these highlights from one of my favorite engagement sessions to date.

Bright + Modern Boudoir Session in Florence Airbnb

“My experience with the boudoir session was so fun, I was actually more relaxed than I thought I would be, I felt sexy and confident with myself. I feel like more women should have them done even if they don’t have a spouse because it makes you feel good about yourself. I had a great time having mine done!”

Sunset Lakeside Proposal in Tuscaloosa, AL | Preston + Meg

The McGuire family has been special to me for several years now. When I first moved to the Shoals area, they were quick to welcome me, love on me, and make me feel like part of the family. So when Preston contacted me about photographing his proposal to Meg, I knew it was going to be such a sweet day.

Downtown Studio Loft Boudoir Session in Birmingham, AL

“I remember giving boudoir a passive thought when I was engaged. It seemed like a really cool idea, but it wasn’t my top priority. Now, looking back, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done—for my now-husband, but also for myself. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so feminine, so sensual, or so confident. It was an incredible experience I think every woman would benefit from. I knew it would be sexy—I had no idea how intimate, how sweet, or how impactful it would be. It’s such an empowering thing to get a glimpse of how your partner sees you.”

Light-Filled Couple Session in East Nashville AirBnb | Kyle + Kristen

Kristen was one of my first friends when I moved to the Shoals area. I feel like we had only just started getting to know each other (attending hot yoga classes and watching The Bachelor together will bond you, for sure) when she moved to Nashville. So when I was there for a day of mini sessions, I asked her and her husband to stop by for a few quick couples portraits. And I obviously knew it would be wonderful, because look how pretty they are. Thanks for hopping in front of my camera, Jeffersons. Y’all are cute.

Modern and Minimal AirBnB East Nashville Portrait Session

When I came to Nashville for a day of mini sessions, I knew I wanted to meet up with Abby. It just so happened that I had a few time slots that didn’t get filled, so I asked if she’d like to come play around with a little portrait session. She agreed, and DANG I’m so glad she did. I love these photos so much. Thanks for going with the flow, Abby girl. You’re the best.

Jewel-Toned Wedding in Birmingham, AL | Andrew + Hattie

Andrew + Hattie were very intentional in how they planned their wedding and what sort of things they wanted to include and exclude. If it wasn’t special or important to them, they didn’t do it. This way of thinking resulted in a sweetly curated day that was perfectly tailored to their relationship and made for a memorable experience for all involved.

Exotic and Elegant Botanical Garden Bridal Session | Kelly Laster Fuller

We worried about rain on the day of Kelly’s bridal session, but the clouds never broke. Instead, they created the dreamiest, even lighting all throughout the gardens. We walked around taking photos wherever we saw a pretty spot, and then ended our time in the greenhouse; I had somehow never been inside it before, and when I walked in I felt my jaw drop a bit. Something about the exotic backdrop mixed with Kelly’s classic, elegant dress just…worked. I don’t get to shoot bridal sessions that often, but every time I do, I leave wishing I shot more of them. These pictures will show you why.

The Goodest and Sweetest Mr. Benjamin Pruitt

In the land of puppers, I want Benj to be King. This good boy is the sweetest and cutest and he was so easy to take pictures of. Just kept smiling at the camera and posing like a natural. And the tongue sticking out??? Can you even handle it??

Downtown Birmingham Wedding at Bridge Street Gallery & Loft | Mark + Stephanie

Mark + Stephanie’s gorgeous downtown wedding was as stunning as it was special. The rain cast a dreary, damp spirit on everything outside, but inside the gorgeous walls of Bridge Street, there was nothing but love and beauty. Photos were taken, vows were recited, and dinner was eaten. As the reception came to an end, the guests were escorted outside to prepare for the sparkler exit while the DJ played one last song for the couple in the candle-lit and now empty upper room—“Clear” by NEEDTOBREATHE echoed all around as the videographer and I grabbed a few final frames of the deliriously happy newlyweds. It was one of the most memorable moments from any wedding I’ve ever photographed.
