my promises to you...

I PROMISE TO HELP PLAN YOUR DAY.

I’ll send you a comprehensive wedding guide that gives you access to all my wedding expertise. I’ll help location scout for portraits. I’ll plan a photography timeline that helps you have the most efficient and stress-free day possible. I’ll keep you on schedule and keep everyone level-headed. And if something goes “wrong” I promise to be right there and help correct the situation.

I PROMISE TO TUCK BACK YOUR FLY-AWAYS.
If you’ve got lipstick on your teeth, a strand of hair going awol, or the tag of your dress sticking out, I’m your girl. I’ll keep an eye on your appearance and make sure you’re staying fresh AF for the best possible pictures.

I PROMISE TO SERVE YOU FIRST.
Whether it’s popping bottles and dancing your heart out or calmly taking it all in, I’ll match your vibe and anticipate your needs. I promise to snap the photos that aren’t just for Instagram, but for remembering those hidden moments throughout the day. I promise to be your wedding day secret service agent...just give me a signal and I'll escort your crazy Aunt Linda out of the room. Whatever you need, I’ve got you covered.

I PROMISE TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH.
If something doesn’t look good, or a specific location isn’t going to photograph well, or your necklace is too much with the dress, I promise I’ll tell you the truth. I’m not going to run around inserting my opinions where they don’t belong, but if you ask me a question, I’ll answer you honestly.

I PROMISE TO GIVE YOU MY ALL.
From the moment you inquire with me to the moment the final gallery is delivered, I promise to work hard and give you the best of what I have. You deserve nothing less.

THE EXPERIENCE

01

THE CONSULTATION

The first thing I like to do after receiving your inquiry is set up a time for us to meet and talk. I prefer to do this in person (let’s grab coffee or a beer, my treat!), but FaceTime or a phone call works great too. This is where you get to tell me all about how you met, what you have planned so far, what you’re most excited about, etc. The consultation helps me get a feel for what you’re looking for, and allows you to get to know me a bit better. Something to consider: your photographer is the person you’ll spend the most time with on your wedding day, so make sure you get along well and enjoy their company!

02

THE DECISION

Booking a wedding photographer is huge. Monumental. Squeal-worthy. This is the person who’ll be documenting the most precious parts of a day that only happens once. They play a huge role in setting the tone for the day, making sure everything stays on schedule, and giving you a positive experience you’ll never forget. If you’ve decided that I’m that person for you...hot damn. I am so incredibly honored!!! To officially book your date, a 50% retainer fee and signed contract make me all yours.

03

THE PREPARATIONS

Welcome to the KJC Family! Once we’ve dotted all the Is and crossed all the Ts, we get to move on to the fun stuff. I'll send you monthly check-ins with planning tips and photo inspo. I'll be there to answer any and all questions you have along the way. I’ll send out a questionnaire a few months before the wedding that helps me finalize all your details and wedding day timeline. The more I know and can plan for ahead of time, the less I'll have to bother you about on your wedding day, resulting in a much more relaxing atmosphere for you, your wedding party, your family, and your guests!

04

THE WEDDING DAY

This is the easy part! All you have to do is sit back, relax, and focus on the most important thing: marrying your best friend. Your friends, family, and vendors are all in your corner, and I know that I will personally do everything I can to make sure your day goes off without a hitch. You deserve it.

THE MEMORIES

The day has ended, the vendors have gone home, the dress has been hung up, and you're back from your honeymoon. Just when it seems like all the wedding excitement is over, you get an email. THE email. Your pictures are ready!!! No more than six weeks after the wedding (usually closer to three!) you’ll receive a link to your online gallery where you can view, favorite, download, and/or purchase prints of your high resolution digital images. This gallery stays online indefinitely and can be shared with all of your friends and family.

Q: WHERE ARE YOU BASED? DO YOU EVER TRAVEL?

A: My business is based in Augusta, Georgia, but I’m available for travel anywhere nationwide. Tell me where you wanna shoot and I’ll be there! (Travel fees may apply. International travel not currently available).

Q: CAN I CUSTOMIZE MY WEDDING PACKAGE?

A: You bet! The KJC wedding experience starts with 8 hours of coverage and one photographer (me!) and is completely customizable from there. Extra hours of coverage, a second photographer, an engagement session, or a boudoir session are just some of the things you can add on to create a custom wedding package that suits your specific needs.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER AT WEDDINGS?

A: Not usually. I shoot 85% of my weddings without one, and I feel 100% confident doing so. However, having a second person with me always makes the job easier, and ensures that every aspect of your wedding day is covered. If you’d like to talk about adding a second photographer to your wedding package, just let me know!

Q: WILL YOU HELP ME IF I HAVE QUESTIONS?
A: Absolutely! My job is so much more than just showing up and taking pictures. There’s work that goes into it beforehand, and work that goes into it afterward, and I’m available to help you with any of it all along the way.

Q: WHAT IF I’M...LIKE...*REALLY* BAD IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA?

A: Don't you fret. Everyone thinks they’re awkward in front of the camera, but the good news is that I’m excellent at what I do, and I’ve done it a lot. All you have to do is show up, trust me, and relax. I’ll take care of the rest.

Q: WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
A: I try to post a sneak peek of your images 1-2 days after the wedding, and I try to get a highlight blog posted 2-3 days after that. Your full wedding gallery will be delivered no later than 6 weeks from your wedding day, but I typically get weddings delivered closer to the 3-week mark.

Q: CAN I SEE THE UNEDITED PHOTOS?

A: Nope! I only send you the very best images (I get rid of all duplicates, eyes closed, etc.) and I only deliver them edited and in their final format. A chef doesn’t send individual, uncooked ingredients to your table...she only delivers once they’ve been combined, cooked, and perfected. The same is true for photographers.

Q: CAN I PRINT MY PHOTOS?

A: Absolutely. You’ll receive a print release and an online gallery of your high-resolution digital images. You can print straight from your gallery (which is connected to a professional printing lab) or you can download the files and use your print release to print anywhere you’d like.

Q: DO YOU OFFER PHOTO ALBUMS?

A: Yes! I offer high-quality, professional albums with beautiful cover styles and materials. You can choose from linen, leather, or velvet covers and there are countless customization options from there.

Q: ARE YOU RUNNING YOUR BUSINESS LEGALLY?

A: You bet. I pay sales tax and income tax and I have a business license and business insurance. Anyone not doing those things is putting both you AND themselves at risk! Be sure to invest in someone who's dotted all their Is and crossed all their Ts.

Q: HOW DO YOU BACK UP + PROTECT MY IMAGES?

A: I have several steps in place to make sure your photographs are safe. 1) I bring backup gear every time I'm working. 2) I upload all of your raw AND edited files to an online storage system. 3) I upload all of your edited images to your online PIC-TIME gallery. 4) I always have two backups of my entire computer on separate external hard drives.

Q: HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU BOOK?

A: I don’t have any specific policies for weddings, but I find most people are booking 9-18 months in advance.

Q: HOW DO I OFFICIALLY HIRE YOU?

A: I require a signed contract and a 50% retainer fee up front (with the remaining 50% due one month before the wedding). Once those two things are done, I'm all yours!
